A 43-year-old man, employed as a CRPF constable died by suicide in Bhopal’s Bangrasia CRPF camp late Thursday night, the police said on Friday. His wife discovered his body hanging early on Friday morning. The incident, as per police, followed a heated argument the previous night, after he scolded their children over studies, which left his wife upset. No suicide note found Investigating officer (IO) at Misrod police station, Amol Sharma told Bhaskar English that the man who took the extreme step has been identified as Mahesh Kumar, a native of Gurgaon in Haryana. He served as a bugler in the CRPF and was currently posted in Jalandhar. At the time of the incident, he was staying with his wife, son, and daughter at the Bangrasia camp. As claimed by the police, no suicide note was recovered, leaving the exact reason behind the act unclear. Family argument ensued over children’s studies On Thursday night, Mahesh, reportedly under the influence of alcohol, scolded his son, who is in Class 12, and his daughter, a Class 7 student, about their studies. His wife objected, especially since the children had exams scheduled the next morning. Upset, she called her mother-in-law to complain, who also expressed her displeasure to Mahesh during the phone call. Mahesh hangs self inside room At around 10:30 pm, Mahesh went to his room. In the early hours of Friday, his wife found him hanging. The body was later sent for post-mortem, after which it was handed over to the family in the afternoon. Police probe on According to the police, they have registered a case of unnatural death and have begun an investigation. They said that further details would be revealed once the inquiry is complete.
