Maharishi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, has dropped from 35th to 46th position in the NIRF 2025 rankings, largely due to acute faculty shortages. Of the 540 required teaching positions, only 215 are currently filled. Despite attempts to recruit, MDU’s efforts were halted by the Chief Minister’s Office. Concerns over academic quality and functionality persist.
